Are membership dues tax deductible?

  • Because a portion of the dues go to the National Association of Home Builders and the Ohio Home Builders Association and are used for lobbying purposes, $45.60 of the $324.00 annual dues are not deductible as a business expense on Federal Income Tax for 2003.

    In addition, $15.00 is for a subscription to Builder magazine and $10.00 is for a subscription to Nations Building News. These amounts also cannot be deducted.
