WEST CHESTER TWP. – After a one-year hiatus, seven homes are showcased in this year’s Homearama site at the Oaks of West Chester.
It is the 53rd show put on by the Home Builders Association of Greater Cincinnati, and the fifth time a West Chester Township neighborhood has been selected as the building site for the upscale homes.
The show opens Saturday and runs through June 26. Homes are located in the 85-acre Oaks of West Chester planned subdivision, along Barrett Road, adjacent to Keehner Park.
Previous shows were in Beckett Ridge, 1980 and 1988; Wetherington, 1992; and Foxboro, 2011.
Known for integrating the industry’s best practices in upscale home design, construction, and decoration, this year’s offerings are priced from $750,000 to $975,000.
They include three, one-story, and four, two-story homes, ranging from 4,360 to 6,800 square feet. Each has a finished lower level.
“They’re all beautiful homes, very unique. Homearama provides a lot of eye candy and that wow factor you won’t see in most homes,’’ said Dan Dressman, executive director of the Home Builders Association of Greater Cincinnati.
“Ninety percent of people who come are interested in decorating ideas. You’ll see the latest trends, colors, appliances and energy efficiencies. When new products come out, suppliers like to demonstrate them in these homes.”
Three builders – Sterling Homes, Homes by Gerbus, and Infinity Homes – are new to Homearama, Dressman said. The others – John Candle Homes, Justin Doyle Homes, and Drees Homes – have all participated in past Homearamas.
To give visitors additional decorating ideas, there is an exhibit tent with products from more than 30 vendors.
Many of the homes in this year’s show put emphasis on providing large outdoor entertaining spaces, taking advantage of the large and numerous backyard trees on every lot.
“Outdoor living is becoming more and more popular,’’ Dressman said. “You’ll see outdoor cooking facilities and unbelievable patios, decks, and fountains.”
Look for a lot of innovation in custom, built-in cabinetry, shelving, and intricate woodworking, Dressman said.
