The following criteria must be met for Builders, Land Developers or Remodeling Contractors to become Builder, Land Developer, or Remodeler members of the Home Builders Association of Greater Cincinnati.
- Applicant must have a letter of recommendation from a current Builder, Land Developer, or Remodeler member of the Association.
- Applicant must have a letter from a lending officer of their financial institution regarding the business' borrowing relationship.
- Applicants must have been engaged in their own business for one (1) full year prior to applying for membership.
- References from 3 homeowners, 2 material suppliers, and 2 subcontractors must be supplied by the applicant. All references must be for work done within the past 2 years.
In the event of a Developer applicant, references of six (6) building lots completed within the last two (2) years must be supplied.
All completed applications are reviewed by a subcommittee of current Association members. This subcommittee reviews all reference letters prior to the applicant's submission to the Board of Directors.
If a Builder/Land Developer/Remodeler Member leaves the Association for a period of over 6 months, that member must submit to the same approval process as a new Builder/Land Developer/Remodeler member applicant.
