T.J. Ackermann Named 2021 HBA President

Thomas J. (T.J.) Ackermann has been named the 2021 president of the Home Builders Association of Greater Cincinnati (HBA). Ackermann, a third-generation builder, is president and CEO of the Thomas J. Ackermann Co, based in Sycamore Township, which specializes in developing residential and commercial projects. He was officially installed at an HBA ceremony earlier this month.
NEW HOME PERMITS UP 8.3% THROUGH OCTOBER

New single-family home permits in Southwest Ohio continued to be bullish through October, reported the Home Builders Association of Greater Cincinnati (HBA). Overall, single-family permits increased 8.3% in all four Southwest Ohio counties through October. Last month’s increase was 7.6%, said the HBA.

Governor DeWine recently issued an updated Ohio’s COVID-19 emergency order that limits public events and private gatherings of more than 10 people due to the rampant spread of the virus as a result of banquets and other social gatherings. Unfortunately, due to this order and the dramatic spike in new COVID-19 cases, the HBA has canceled in-person events for the remainder of the year, including the E3 Holiday Party, the Annual Meeting, and year-end dinners/luncheons.

Deerfield Township leads in new permits

Warren County’s Deerfield Township led all local jurisdictions through June with 141 single-family permits, reported the Home Builders Association of Greater Cincinnati (HBA). Overall, single-family permits were down at the mid-year point by -4.7%, said the HBA.
