- Deerfield Township leads in new permits
Posted August 10, 2020
Warren County’s Deerfield Township led all local jurisdictions through June with 141 single-family permits, reported the Home Builders Association of Greater Cincinnati (HBA). Overall, single-family permits were down at the mid-year point by -4.7%, said the HBA.
“Much of the slowdown can be attributed to the lack of developable lots,” said Dan Dressman, Executive Director. “Builders are also starting to see delays in building supplies due to COVID-19, as well as increases in lumber prices resulting from the Canadian tariffs, “ he added.
A total of 1,388 single-family permits were issued through June of this year, compared to 1,457 in 2019. Construction permits were tracked from Butler, Clermont, Hamilton, and Warren counties.
Both Butler and Clermont Cos. experienced increases in June: Butler, 21.2%; Clermont 10.5%. Single-family permits in both Hamilton and Warren Cos. slowed in June: Hamilton -45.8%; Warren -5.5%.
