Cincinnati, OH, August 9, 2021: Four Southwest Ohio students were recently awarded scholarships in the Home Builders Association of Greater Cincinnati’s (HBA) first Construction Careers Inititiatives’ Scholarship Program. The program provides financial support to area students pursuing training or degree programs leading to a career in residential construction. The scholarships were provided by the HBA’s Charitable Foundation through the financial support of member companies.
Recipients of this year’s scholarships are as follows:
Chloe Sammond, a resident of Fairfield Township and a student at Liberty University, is pursuing a degree in interior design.
Jackson Allen, a resident of Anderson Township and a student at Live Oaks Career Campus, enrolled in HVAC technician training.
Nicholas Gerbus, a resident of Colerain Township and a student at Miami University, is pursuing a degree in construction management.
According to Brad Olinger, Chair of the HBA’s Careers in Construction Committee, “Residential construction can lead to a lucrative income and a satisfying lifelong profession. There are numerous opportunities for people to join our industry and advance quickly,” he said.
