(Cincinnati, OH) Thomas J. (T.J.) Ackermann has been named the 2021 president of the Home Builders Association of Greater Cincinnati (HBA). Ackermann, a third-generation builder, is president and CEO of the Thomas J. Ackermann Co, based in Sycamore Township, which specializes in developing residential and commercial projects. He was officially installed at an HBA ceremony earlier this month.
Ackermann, a resident of Sycamore Township, has a degree in political science from the University of Maine. He is a partner in several other business operations, including Hearth Home Communities & Hearth Home Management. Ackermann is a member of the Urban Land Institute and a Registered LEED AP of the U.S. Green Building Council.
His involvement with the HBA has been extensive. In addition to serving on the executive committee and board of directors, he has been actively involved in the Ohio Valley Development Council and the City of Cincinnati’s Tax Abatement Study Group. Ackermann also serves as a delegate for both the Ohio and National Association of Home Builders. Over the past several years, he has served in leadership positions with the Indian Hill Church, Beech Acres Parenting Center, Entrepreneurs Organization, Keep Cincinnati Beautiful, and the Indian Hill Green Areas Advisory Committee.
Ackermann has been the developer of several of the HBA’s CiTiRAMAs®, as well as the recent HOMEARAMA® at Walworth Junction. He will serve as the developer of the first joint CiTiRAMA® between the HBA of Greater Cincinnati and the BIA of Northern Kentucky next fall.
Other 2021 HBA officers include Dave Stroup, Fischer Homes, First Vice President/Treasurer; John Cowan, Somerset Homes, Second Vice President/Secretary; and Brad Olinger, Sterling Homes, Chairman of the Board.
