Careers In Construction Scholarships
The Home Builders Association of Greater Cincinnati (HBA) provides financial scholarships to students in the Cincinnati Standard Metropolitan Statistical Area (SMSA) who are pursuing careers in residential construction. These scholarships are awarded annually, up to $2,500 per applicant. The funds can be used for tuition at a trade school, or college, tools, course materials, and transportation expenses related to this endeavor. Scholarships are renewable annually.
Four Awarded HBA Construction Career Scholarships
Cincinnati, OH, August 9, 2021: Four Southwest Ohio students were recently awarded scholarships in the Home Builders Association of Greater Cincinnati’s (HBA) first Construction Careers Inititiatives’ Scholarship Program. The program provides financial support to area students pursuing training or degree programs leading to a career in residential construction. The scholarships are provided by the HBA’s Charitable Foundation through the financial support of member companies.
Recipients of this year’s scholarships are as follows:
- Chloe Sammond, a resident of Fairfield Township and a student at Liberty University, is pursuing a degree in interior design.
- Jackson Allen, a resident of Anderson Township and a student at Live Oaks Career Campus, enrolled in HVAC technician training.
- Nicholas Gerbus, a resident of Colerain Township and a student at Miami University, is pursuing a degree in construction management.
- Ethan Frank, a resident of Cincinnati and a student at the University of Cincinnati, is pursuing a degree in construction management.
According to Brad Olinger, Chair of the HBA’s Careers in Construction Committee, “Residential construction can lead to a lucrative income and a satisfying lifelong profession. There are numerous opportunities for people to join our industry and advance quickly,” he said.
